Here are two video clips recording some reactions to the course.

This shortened form of the Summer School started in most unpromising weather and for older hands it may well have brought back memories and fears of Bath 2009! In the event, however, nothing was going to spoil or interrupt our stay at the Ridge, a superbly appointed venue with helpful and congenial staff.
Three whole days of high-quality lectures and intensive study group meetings were spiced with entertainments which were wondrously thrown together with the slightest of preparation time - not forgetting our regular favourites, selections from carmina Arelatum, belted out with accustomed ARLT gusto and the ever popular Classical Quiz, which was narrowly shaded by hoi aristoi , with senes severiores pushing them all the way.
Monica of Hellenic Bookservice spread before us again her treasury of books, whilst we Latinists talked and talked - sometimes in Latin - , delighting in each other's company, making new friends and renewing old acquaintances. Guest speakers and delegates from the USA, Greece and Ireland mixed and mingled with home-grown teachers from around the UK. Links were forged, invitations were extended.

Respice! prospice! The ARLT acknowledges its debt to generations past but looks forward with renewed confidence as its newest members take up the torch and ensure a bright future for the promulgation and learning of Latin.

Our thoughts now turn to Charterhouse School 2011 and our Centenary celebrations
