A great turn-out; there will be nearly 70 of us at the this year's Summer School.
All the arrangements have now been made and I look forward to meeting you there.
As indicated earlier, car parking and Cambridge don't mix; if you do decide to travel by car please let us know now. If you just arrive and hope to find a parking space, it may not work out.
See you there.

Gill Fyffe was to direct this Summer School but had to drop out last month, so I have just taken over. Unfortunately this has meant we have had a short hiatus with the arrangements but I have now been to Cambridge and checked things out. Gill's first-class preparatory work means that we have an excellent venue and programme, and my job now is to tie up the loose ends, ensure all the Speakers and Option Groups can run as planned, and make sure as many as possible know what a good Summer school it will be; so when 22nd July comes, all those attending will have an enjoyable, stimulating, and educationally profitable time.
Please check out the details and if you haven't applied yet, get your
application in to Pauline Cox-Smith post haste.
See you there.

Introduction
The Summer School in 2007 will be held between 22-25 July in Corpus Christi College, Cambridge. This beautiful college, licensed by Edward III in 1352, is centred on the thatched Old Court, which is one of the oldest college buildings in either Oxford or Cambridge. It numbers Christopher Marlowe and John Fletcher among its alumni.
There is a state-of-the-art and air-conditioned theatre for plenary sessions, an elegant dining hall and comfortable study-bedrooms. En suite bedrooms may be available at an extra charge.
The college is in the centre of Cambridge, close to shops and restaurants, a few hundred yards from King's College Chapel and within five minutes' walk of the Fitzwilliam Museum.
The schedule will include a guided tour of the Graeco-Roman and Egyptian antiquities in the Fitzwilliam, the possibility of attending Evensong in King's Chapel, and an expedition by punt along 'the backs' of the college gardens.

I can fully endorse your recommendation about the Summer School - I
too have just been on the one in Durham and found it incredibly useful, as
well as great fun. I certainly hope to be in Cambridge next year.
