A collection of British Classics Department web sites for enjoyment and for picking up ideas for your own school site.
I have collected these sites by searching the web, rather than from any submitted list, so I trust that these pages do not breach any confidentiality or data protection law. If, however, any school wishes for their entry to be removed I shall do as they ask.
The division into larger and smaller sites is arbitrary. Many schools allot a page to each department, without links; some give a similar page for each subject - Latin, Greek, Classical Civilisation. These web pages are not really comparable with the multi-page departmental sites of other schools.
I am aware that some Classics sites may exist on intranets, and are not visible to the world in general.
My recommendation is that Classics departments ask the school for a link to another part of the site, and there do their own thing. The larger sites include several that are well worth copying and adapting. I have marked one or two of these with an asterisk.
As more sites have been added, the list has outgrown a single page and is now on five pages as above.
If you would like to send me your Classics Department site URL I shall be glad to add it to the list.
